My daughter went to a nursery school since she was 5 months old.

A few tips from my experience.

In Japan there are number of children waiting to be accepted by nursery school.

There are authorized and unauthorized nursery school in Japan.

Unauthorized may sound unsafe.  But it only means that they do not meet certain

standards, such as no play grounds or no kitchen.

Authorized nursery school tend to be bigger and since they are subsidized by the

government, the cost is minimum.  However, you need to prove that you have a job and that

it is difficult to raise a child at home.  Also, income is a factor which is taken into consideration.

On the other hand, unauthorized nursery school tend to nurse children for longer hours.

They are very unique so it is easier for parents to choose a nursery school that fit their needs.

You must go and see it for yourself to understand the differences.

I checked 6 nursery schools before I found a friendly nursery school that is close to home and

nurses until 21:00 and have a kitchen.  And I am very happy with my decision!
